Wellons' Dryer Energy and Thermal Oxidation (DETOX) technology eliminates the need for expensive gas-fired thermal oxidation equipment by utilizing VOC laden exhaust air from the rotary dryer as furnace combustion air, while supplying clean spark-free hot air to the inlet to the dryer.

VOC's from the dryer exhaust are effectively incinerated in the furnace system.
The furnace system is based on the Wellons cell-type furnace design. This proven design is capable of firing a wide variety of plant wood-waste materials.
Clean, heated air is supplied to the dryer using a high-temperature flue gas to air heat exchanger. Flue gasses are then routed to a downstream recuperator, where the gasses re-heat the dryer exhaust, for use as furnace combustion air.
Exhaust gasses from the recuperator are cleaned with a Wellons multiple cone collector and Wellons dry ESP.
Complete installations are available, including fuel receiving and handling, DETOX system, computerized control, and ESP.
