Career Opportunities: Electrical Engineer

The qualified candidate will work within a team of electrical, instrument and control engineers designing and building bio-mass fueled energy systems, steam turbine co-generation facilities and lumber drying kilns, both domestically and internationally.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Specify and purchase equipment.
  • Produce electrical wiring, assembly and installation specifications and drawings.
  • Configure and program PLC and HMI equipment.
  • Supervise construction progress on site as necessary.
  • Provide start-up and commissioning services on site.
  • Customer support for our installed base of equipment.

    In addition, the candidate must possess solid written and verbal communications skills, as well as being customer focused; knowledge of standard computer programs (Word, Excel), be a self-starter, able to work independently, and work well under pressure and deadlines.

    Requirements for the job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • BSEE or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office applications and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of standard wiring techniques - NEC, NFPA.
  • Relevant experience with motor control, variable frequency drives, PLC architecture, programming and troubleshooting and HMI integration.
  • Working knowledge of low and medium voltage power distribution.
  • Experience in Turbine Generator controls desired.
  • Ability to work well with all members of the organization, from upper management to skilled labor, is a must.
  • Travel to job sites during design, construction management, commissioning and support is an integral part of this position.

    This position would report directly to the Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager.
